About this course

Estimated time to complete: 10 Minutes
Skill Set: SQL, Data Visualization, Report Building
What you'll learn: After completing this exercise you will have an understanding of how to create a new Dataset in Mode, and how to use a Dataset for a no-code report creation process.

In this exercise, you'll learn about creating and using Datasets in Mode. Datasets are a feature that provide a no-code pathway for users to creating visualizations and reports. A Dataset is typically created in collaboration with the business team who provides the specifications of the Dataset (what the Dataset should contain) and the data team who writes the query that creates the Dataset. Multiple reports can then be built off of the same Dataset and multiple visualizations in a single report can use the same Dataset. In this exercise we will create a Dataset and see how it can be used by non-technical users.
